Kim Delaney, an American actor best known for her role as Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series for which she received the Emmy Award. Her roles comprise All My Children Philly CSI: Miami as well as Army Wives. Delaney was born the only child of her mother who was a homemaker and an executive in her union, the United Auto Workers. Delaney was a child in the company of four brothers. In her early years she was aspired to become a reporter for the court. After graduating from high school, and moving to New York in the 1980s and began to model, she was hooked. The role she was given was that of an innocent child in the 1981 soap opera All My Children. Delaney, a young actress in the 80s, has been featured in several films TV movies and in dramas. Like her career, her personal life hasn't been easy or prosperous. The talented actress has struggled with alcoholism in the past and had two divorces. She lost custody of her son in the year 2005.
